Commissioner Greechan and Deputy Commissioner Nicoletti came before the Committee to discuss ID # 11130- Bond Act RB134- (Amended) Washington Street, Peekskill. This a Bond Act in the amount of $3,290,000.00, will be added to the already previously bonded amount of $330,000.00 bringing the total amount to $3,290,000.00 to finance capital project Washington Street C.R. 92, Peekskill, and will fund the cost of design, construction management and construction associated with the rehabilitation of approximately 1.23 miles of roadway from Welcher Avenue to South Street. The work will include milling, joint and crack repair, resurfacing, stone and curbing rehabilitation, installation of ADA sidewalk ramps, traffic loop and new pavement marking. The DPW&T is trying to get contracts in place for all roadwork this fall, in anticipation of work that must be done in the spring as it is necessary to pave when temperatures rise above 40 degrees and it wants to be able to start in immediately without waiting. By grouping projects together, pricing is better. Washington Street received a pavement condition index (PCI) of 65 in 2016 and has an annual daily traffic count of 6,277. Approval was conditioned upon receipt of a cost breakdown.

With a motion by Legislator Tubiolo and seconded by Legislator Barr the item was approved with a vote of 5-0.
