IMA-For-Hire Vehicles-Sleepy Hollow

On motion of Legislator Gelfarb seconded by Legislator Harckham this item was approved as amended with a vote of 4 to 0.

There are four I.M.A.’s with various municipalities for For-Hire Vehicles. The first one is Sleepy Hollow. There is no F.I.S. attached to the legislation. If we do not receive it by the Board meeting on June 18, the 4 I.M.A.’s will not be acted on. Originally there was one I.M.A. and now there is one for each municipality. Also the term of the I.M.A. was changed from five years to one year and this may be terminated on sixty days written notice upon mutual consent. Legislator Ryan would like to know how the various localities were informed about this legislation. He is particularly concerned about White Plains, Scarsdale and Harrison, the communities that he represents. He also wanted to know who came up with the termination clause, why would this be terminated in one year when this is favorable to the County. Usually, the termination was three to five years. On the motion of Legislator Marcotte, seconded by Legislator Ryan, the motion was carried by a vote of 6-0 (Myers, Shimsky, Ryan, Spreckman, Smith, Marcotte). This was signed out previously from the Committee on Government Operations.
